Some of the pieces are very sad, about protection and childhood. For instance, a sweater knit from kevlar webbing--strong enough to support several loaded cement trucks, but totally uncomfortable. A baby blanket knit from spun from silica, able to withstand temperatures above the melting point of steel, but extremely carcinogenic, and a series of teddy bears knit from lead.
While the other relationships in this series of knit objects may be less exterme the retaining factor is the novel relationship of hand crafted functional objects to new uses and implications
